Correspondence, printed and semi-print materials, newspaper clippings, photographs, memorabilia, and other items mostly related to Schon's World War II service in the U.S. Army Amphibian Engineers and to his civil defense work as director of the Minnesota Department of Civil Defense (1955-1960) and as deputy director of the U.S. Army Office of Civil Defense (ca. 1962-1970).
